This month saw Byerley Park Primary School hold their annual ‘Sports Week’, involving the whole school working in mixed age teams, taking part in fun events and coaching sessions. The children worked with local clubs to try new sports and engage with the local community. The theme of our week was about ‘belonging’ – a place in sport for every child. All children were given the opportunity to connect with others, develop important life skills and improve both their physical and mental health, while having lots of fun! We would like to say a huge thank you to Aycliffe Dance Academy, Circus Sensible, Newton Aycliffe Youth Football Club, Greenfield School Sports Leaders, Wildcats Girls’ Football Club and Greenfield Badminton Club, who all delivered engaging and fun sessions with our children, throughout the week. Our week ended with an energetic and entertaining ‘Colour Run’, organised by the ‘Go Well’ team. It was so lovely to see all of the children together, having fun and supporting each other. This is always a fabulous week for our school and we are already looking forward to next year!
