Residents at Defoe Court Care Home went on a fascinating trip to the Durham Light Infantry Museum, using their especially designed minibus.
Residents and staff decided to make the best of the good weather with a daytrip to the Museum. Residents and staff enjoyed the various exhibitions, and the male residents were particularly interested in the 1940’s artillery section. There was excellent wheelchair access and residents enjoyed lunch in the museum’s café.
The Care Home Manager, Wendy Walker, said: “It was a great trip and a wonderful opportunity for residents to see such interesting exhibitions, we are also really pleased that the museum is so wheelchair friendly and accommodating, we’ll definitely be back!”
HC-One Regional Managing Director, Liz Whyte, said: “HC-One aims to provide the kindest care and taking residents on cultural and enjoyable trips such as this one is an important part of that.”
