Greenfield Arts were very proud to accompany male volunteers who gave their time to a community project “Hand’s on- Cree”, funded by East Durham Trust and the NHS, that developed a new and attractive landscape area at the front of Greenfield Community and Arts Centre.
Over 15 men volunteered throughout a 10 month period to design, create, plan and install a beautiful bamboo structure, Nalu – ‘The Wave’.  The structure was officially opened by Lord Lieutenant of County Durham, Sue Snowdon and has been recognised at this year’s 24th annual DCC Environment Awards.
The community project was recognised at a ceremony at Radisson Blu Durham, with a commendation for the achievements it has made in community engagement and for the contribution the work has made to the wider community.
Thank you to all the men who gave their time, ideas, hard graft and commitment to realise this wonderful structure that has improved the area for all.
We are looking to develop another project for men. If you are interested in giving some time to contribute to something to the community please contact us at info@greenfield-arts.co.uk , give us a ring on 01325 379 048 or call in to see us.
