Dear Sir
You won’t remember me, but I used to live on the town until 1976 and played rugby for the local team until around 1990, when I moved away to Manchester although I still visit Newton Aycliffe fairly regularly to see my mother,
We stayed with her last weekend and, on Sunday were walking from Westmorland Way towards Tescos and came across two young girls pushing an elderly gent in a broken down mobility scooter. They had just stopped his scooter from rolling into the burn and were pushing him to his home in Pease Way.
I helped them push the scooter, and we made sure that he reached home safely. I don’t know their names, but I would like to thank the two girls for their kindness towards a complete stranger.
