Under 7’s Eagles v Blackhall Monks. The Eagles secured a place in a higher division on Saturday, with an emphatic win over Blackhall Monks. On a nail biting final day of the season, with the top 3 places still to be decided, the Eagles couldn’t take anything for granted. After a tentative start on a bitter morning, the players soon woke up and had two dominate spells, each reaping several goals. At half-time, the hard work was done, so wholesale substitutions were made for the second half and they continued to another impressive haul with Blackhall Monks getting a deserved consolation. Dylan scored with a penalty after Jack was brought down in the box 2-3. Lee then got his second after a great build up from the lads 2-4. Jack passed the ball across the front of goal unfortunately their keeper kicked it into his own net 2-5 to the Hawks. Seaton kept on pressing forward and they scored again 3-5. FT 3-6 to the Hawks and promotion still a possibility  MOTM was Evan another stunning display in defence that kept Seaton out on lots of occasions.

Under 12 girls v Deerness. Away trip in the Q/F of the league shield for the girls and they were on their way after 3 mins, as Kate beats 2 defenders to the ball and slots passed the keeper. Hattie fed the ball wide to Brooke who raced from the half way line, gets to the bye line and hits the perfect cross for Olivia to control and prod home. Alex’s turn to race passed the 2 central defenders and calmly beats the keeper.
The pace and movement were giving Deerness all sorts of problems and just before half time Hattie gets the ball in the box, side steps the defender and finds the corner HT 0-4. Aycliffe continued to create chances but Deerness were looking dangerous on the break and from one of these the ball rebounded between 3 players and despite Grace getting to the ball couldn’t prevent it from creeping over the line. FT 1-4… Onwards to an end of month semi final.
