Woodham Academy hosted its annual Year 8 Celebration Evening last Tuesday. The event marked the end of the school year, with lots of recognition of excellent progress for the students. Students were recognised for the contribution that they have made in their studies up to the end of year 8.
Certificates of Achievement were given in the following categories: most progress made since the start of year 7, best effort, best behaviour, highest quality homework and individual Tutor Group awards. Students with 100% attendance for the year were also rewarded.
The night was a mixture of celebrating what the students have achieved so far, but also acknowledging that students need to give maximum effort in school in order to realise their full potential and achieve their aspirations. Head of Year 8, Peter Groves said “It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the students’ achievements so far with parents/carers and also build in key information about the importance of working very hard.  We wish all of our students on-going success in their studies”.
