On Tuesday 14th July Woodham Academy held its annual Woodham Learning Celebration evening for the Y7 pupils who have completed their first year of studying.
The main hall was at full capacity with over 150 parents, carers and family attending to see 84 pupils receive certificates for outstanding effort, behaviour, progress and homework over the whole year. Certificates for participation in the National Mathematics Challenge were also awarded.
A special mention has to be made for Mr Heaven’s Wildlife group who received the first ever John Muir Awards for Nature Conservancy that the Academy has received.
One of the attending parents, Mrs Partridge, whose daughter Rachel is pictured receiving her certificates for Outstanding Homework, Behaviour and Achievement said “Having my daughter’s hard work recognised in this way has been a lovely way to end this very important school year”.
This year’s Year 7 pupils will now hopefully go on to repeat this success in Year 8. The Academy looks forward to welcoming its new Year 7 pupils in September.
