Each year the World Wildlife Fund hold a global environmental awareness event called Earth Hour which asks members of the public, organisations, governments etc to take part in a big electricity switch off for an hour on the day of Earth Hour.
We will be holding this community event on the evening of Saturday 28th March at Brafferton Village Hall from 6.30 – 8pm with our Earth Hour being 7 – 8pm.
Sunset is 6.28pm that night so it should be dark and children can come in onesies/pjs with facepaints (both optional) and bring their favourite stuffed animal toy for a picnic.
There will be a general welcome with candle lantern making until lights off at 7pm for each child to use during the lights out.
Activities around the hall.to include stuffed animal, picnic, hot chocolate and marshmallows, supper treats.
There will be a Silver decorated tree and children can add their own wishes for the planet as a star decoration making their own stars to shine on the walls with torches.
Animal play section, with colouring for the children to draw animal shadows, sea creature section with shallow shower tray of sand, dinosaurs, with play dough to make footprint “fossils”

● Little Seed Heads to make and take home
People need to bring: Torch/candles, Grown up drinks. A plate of your favourite supper treats to share at our indoor stuffed animal picnic (cookies, cake etc).
Charge is a ‘suggested donation’ of £2 per family.
