The downpour of rain over recent times may have revealed the purpose of the heavy excavation work at Cobblers Hall Moor next to the new housing estate being built. A reader sent this photo showing what may be a man-made pond on the moor. We have asked for plans or an artist’s impression of the finished site and will publish when at hand. It could be a very attractive area and an added amenity for Newton Aycliffe.
