Greenfield College presented an evening of Drama and Dance on Wednesday 30th April featuring Greenfield’s dance groups and Youth Theatre.
Greenfield’s “Grounded,” and ICEL 8 groups, who have been touring venues and festivals in the region recently, gave a fantastic performance to the audience, adding to their continuing success.
The Youth Theatre, who meet weekly throughout the year and are supported by Greenfield’s drama specialist Mrs Watt, performed ‘Humpty Dumpty’ a Theatre In Education piece that explores the tragic consequences of bullying. The play was hard hitting and provided a powerful message to the audience, many of whom were moved by the storyline and the acting skills.
Mrs Watt said: “The actors excelled and provided a superb performance which was testimony to their commitment and dedication throughout the whole process not just the performance. They are a delight to work with and it is inspiring to nurture such talent into quality youth theatre.”
This recent performance is one of many where students have had the opportunity to be a part of this year, thanks to the hard work and commitment of the staff in Greenfield’s Performing Arts department, we look forward to seeing what they do next!
