21 students from Woodham Academy competed at the County Durham Sainsbury School Games at Freeman’s Quay Durham on Friday 22nd March. Woodham’s team was made up of club swimmers from Sedgefield 75 and Woodham Swimming Academy.
The event was well attended with over 10 schools taking part with club swimmers and non club swimmers competing in Medley and Freestyle events.
Since the development of Woodham Sports Academy there has been a significant improvement in Woodham’s sporting performances and this was evident on Friday as Woodham Swimming Academy enjoyed a fantastic day, finishing 6th overall. The junior boys team won their medley team race and intermediate girls finished 3rd in the freestyle team race.
