The front gardens on our estate are all open plan and in the main are laid to lawn. As there are no fences or hedges, anything being blown by the wind can end up on the lawn.
We have no trees out front, nor do my neighbours on either side, but we are surrounded by trees on common ground controlled by the council. This time of year the lawns get covered by leaves, and I can easily fill  two brown bins full of them.
Starting next year, we will be surcharged for the brown bin service. Will the council be picking up the leaves from the trees they control, or will we be paying them to take the leaves away?
