A resident of the Western area of Newton Aycliffe is delighted after being selected at random to win a £30 Argos Voucher. Andrew Bell, won the prize after completing a survey as part of the Western Regeneration Consultation.

Phil Wilson MP presented Andrew with his voucher and congratulated him on taking part in the work locally. Phil said “It is great to see residents getting involved in the consultation, hearing people’s views is a very important part of the process”.

Andrew said “I have lived in the Western area all my life and I completed the survey so that my opinion and thoughts would be considered.

It was great to be able to have a chat with Phil too, I’m keen on local politics and Phil invited me to call into his constituency office at any time.

I was surprised to win the voucher but it couldn’t have come at a better time with Christmas just round the corner, I have two daughters, 5 years and 8 months old, so chose a voucher from Argos to give them some extra gifts.

The Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) have been conducting consultation asking local people what they like about the estate, what they don’t like and what they would like to see in the future.

Over the next few months, we will continue to engage with residents to understand their aspirations. If you live or work in the Western area there are lots of ways that you can get involved from attending an event, submitting your ideas online or becoming a community volunteer.
