Have you ever thought about fostering a child? If not, is it something you might consider?
To help you decide Durham County Council’s Fostering Service is running a series of information sessions next week in Durham City, Spennymoor, Peterlee and Bishop Auckland.
Florence Coulter, fostering manager said: “We often find that people are hesitant to come forward and we know that they have lots of questions to ask. They tell us it’s not clear what’s involved in becoming a foster carer and they want to find out what support is available to help along the way.
“We think the best way for anyone to get the answers they want is to come and chat with a foster carer, they can tell you what fostering is all about. These open events are a great opportunity to learn more without making a commitment. We know there’s a lot to think about and hope we can answer some of your questions in a less formal environment and over a coffee.”
Anyone interested can call in to one of the following sessions:
Thursday 12 September, Spennymoor Town Hall, anytime between 4.30pm – 6.30pm.
Thursday 19 September, Four Clocks, Bishop Auckland, anytime between 4.30pm – 6.30pm.
