Only a handful of games to report from last weekend as the windy, wet weather caused havoc with many local matches.
No game for the U13 Girls on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch. The Girls host Lumley Ladies U13’s this Saturday in a dress rehearsal of the League Cup Final to be played at Newbottle in May.
Sunday’s games saw the U16’s travel to TIB’s and come away with a hard fought 3-4 win after finding themselves 2-0 down at half-time. The lads re-grouped and from the restart, eventually started to work for each other and were soon level with goals from Lewis Scott and Jimmy Cameron. Corey Denton volleyed in from a Ben Lowthian corner to make it 3-2, but switched off again and the home side equalised.
With time running out, Jimmy Cameron hit the inside of the post and what seemed like a lifetime, the ball rolled along the line into the far corner. 3pts gained with the team doing exactly what was asked of them at the interval. Man of the Match to both Harry Laverty and Kieran McWaters.
Not a great day for both the U13s and U14s who lost to Thirsk Falcons Blues and Heighington at home.
The Under 8 Falcons produced two very good displays away at SRC Wasps. The first game ended in a 2-2 draw after being 2 nil up at half time. SRC came back in the 2nd half to earn themselves a draw. Dylan Stewart scored both goals and “Man of the Match”.
The second game ended with a 1-0 win.with an excellent performance by Jacob Bailey-Thompson with a well deserved goal and Man of The Match. Well done boys.
