Before breaking up for half term, students at UTC South Durham raised £363 for Hunwick based charity Here4Horses. To raise the money, staff and students took part in a non-uniform day and lunch time bake sale which was organised by Year 13 student Amber Roberson.
Amber, who is a keen supporter of the charity, even organised for resident Shetland Ponies Amazon and Lillie-Mae to visit UTC over lunch time to meet the students!
UTC will be holding another charity event on December 16th with the benefiting charity yet to be announced.
In the coming weeks, UTC has a number of open evenings in which families can attend to learn more about their technical education and engineering specialism. Due to demand, families must book a space via their website utcsouthdurham.org.
Applications to join UTC have recently opened with students able to join in Year 10 as well as Year 12. Given their successful track record in working with students to develop them into career and life ready individuals, UTC expects to be full from September 2023. For more information about how prospective students can book onto an open evening or complete an application, contact admissions@utcsouthdurham.org or call 01325 430 250.
