Scarlet showed fantastic pace throughout Saturday’s test sessions and was looking to secure a podium finish for the following race day. Scarlet really enjoys the full race format which Wombwell run where all the drivers take up the grid positions and racing commences all together with the lights.

On Sunday, for round 8 of the championship, things started off as planned with a 3rd position in her 1st heat along with setting a lap time less than 2 tenths away from the fastest lap time.

However in the 2nd heat, following contact with another competitor and the tyre wall resulted in a badly bent chassis, Scarlet’s race was unfortunately cut short. With very limited time until the next heat basic repairs were made to get the kart as close to straight as possible for the following heat.

Despite the kart not handling how Scarlet expected she soldiered on to 7th place in heat 3.

Scarlet secured 12th place for the start of the A final based on her finishing positions from the 3 heats against 19 competitors. In the final, despite contact on a couple of occasions resulting in a couple of spins, Scarlet drove as well as could be expected with the kart still not handling on top form to finish 8th overall in the final.

“Well done Scarlet for not giving in and for showing determination on track” said Mam Amanda.

Scarlet is currently in 10th position in the championship against 31 registered drivers even though she has missed 3 out of the 8 rounds.

Scarlet next hopes to compete at Wombwell for the final round of the championship on the 7th & 8th of December.

Scarlet would like to thank everyone involved at Amaron Racing and local companies JohnsonLand Home Improvements and NRG Cycles for their continuing support.
