The Oakleaf Golf club held a special competition on Saturday 29th July in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance Service raising £400. Club Captain Dave Archer and all members wish to thank all who donated prizes: Croxdale Group, HAGS/SP, along with vouchers from Bishop Auckland GC, Wynard GC, Heworth GC, Hobson GC Hetton -le-Hole Golf Club. The Town Council donated the use of the course to enable all proceeds to go to the charity. Croxdale Motors kindly donated for a weekend a Mitsubishi Outlander worth £33,000 to Steve Berryman who won this prize for the Longest Drive. Tournament winners: 1st – Neil Guy & Steve Berryman, 2nd – Dicky Parker & Tom Mulligan, 3rd – Ian Gaul & John Clasper, 4th – Ian Sincock & Steve Hunter, 5th – Donny Campbell & Nigel Ord.
