Sedgefield 75 Swimming Club swimmers were in competition action at two events in March. Three swimmers travelled to the John Charles Centre for Sport in Leeds for Richmond Dales Swimming Club’s April Fool gala in the 50m pool there. The location attracted clubs from all over Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cumbria, as well as the North East, giving some different opposition for our swimmers.
Charlotte Lee, Charlie McEwan and Aviana Wilson took part, with Charlotte swimming 50m fly and breaststroke and 100m freestyle. Charlie did just the one event, 50m freestyle. Aviana had a busier schedule with seven swims, in which she swam good personal bests in 50, 100, and 200m freestyle.
There were medals too for Aviana as she took gold in 100 and 200m backstroke and bronze in 50 and 100m freestyle.
Also in action, in March, was swimmer Mia Barry, who took part in the Darlington Primary Schools Gala swimming for Heighington Primary School. She had a fantastic day, winning individual bronze medals in butterfly and backstroke, and also gold in the mixed freestyle relay and silver in the medley relay.
Meanwhile, the club has restructured it’s training and has vacancies in all groups including swim for fitness and a new ‘8-10’ group taking Swim England level 7 swimmers on to higher levels.
