Town Council Officers are highlighting a worrying current trend of irresponsible disposal of drugs paraphernalia around the town in public waste bins for public safety.

The ‘haul’ pictured was recovered from a bin in the Humphrey Close area in carrier bags and contained a copious volume of associated drugs material including used hypodermic needles, some of which were unguarded

Council Officers are working with the Police and Enforcement Officers to track down the irresponsible people who have disposed of the waste in this manner. In the meantime, they recommend that the general public do not put their hands physically into the bin.

Members of the public are asked to be aware of this situation and report any suspicious activities to the police.
