CDTVRM started off as a human trafficking abolition group which initially supported ‘Hope for Justice’ in their charitable work.

Within our organization we realized that awareness and prevention were significant factors in combatting the modern day slavery business.

For example, a vulnerable person attending a local foodbank could be led to go into a dangerous situation with no understanding of the danger they could be in.

We offer training and awareness groups to help local communities identify or at least see certain warning signs which can then be fed into the correct channels for verification and action if necessary.

CDTVRM ways of involving the communities is by sponsoring local events such as men’s breakfasts, craft clubs for all ages, afternoon teas for ladies, computer repair clinics, special lunches and presentations at residents and community meetings.

We are hoping to have a positive influence in offering a support network. Our other services include 1 to 1 advocacy and sign posting to other local services.

We are a voluntary organization and most of our events are free to the community. We do rely on donations and funding for support.

We are looking to host more events for different communities in Newton Aycliffe and to continue supporting the local communities in raising awareness of the modern-day slavery bill which includes Sexual exploitation, forced labor, domestic servitude and the harvesting of human organs within the UK.

We would like to thank the following for their continued support: GACAP, Tesco, Cnclr. Dorothy Bowman – Western Area Community Centre, Cllr. Ken Robson – Acorn Chairman, Harvest Church, Honest John for his generous donation of £500, public donations and all our voluntary team who make this possible.

Our office is based at the Western Area Community Centre.
