I was very surprised and pleased to accept the Syd Howarth Community Service Award on behalf of the Play Café Project. So many people did extraordinary things since March 2020. It’s great to have our contribution recognised in this way. Heartfelt thanks on behalf of all at Play Café, especially our superstar volunteers and sponsors.
We enjoy great support from businesses, individuals and groups in our community. Tesco, 3M employees, Walkers Butchers & Bakers, Rotary Newton Aycliffe, The Big Club, NAYCC and the DCP County Food Bank …. all give ongoing support. The list would seem endless to try to name everyone! We really couldn’t do half of what we do without their generosity.
Play Café is doing its October half term support to families on the Town. This will be partly funded by the County Durham Fun and Food programme, via the GAMP and match funded by our supporters and sponsors. Thank you to you all.
Well done to Pam, other runners up and everyone who helps those in need – winners or not this year!
Great job Newton News and the Howarth family. It means a lot to you and us, organising this recognition from the Community we seek to serve. Honours the memory of a great man.
