Sedgefield 75 Swimming Club held its annual Christmas Gala over last weekend which brought together all squads for the first time this year. The senior squad kicked off the meet with some impressive swimming demonstrating why Sedgefield has National and Regional champions amongst their ranks, this was followed up by B & C squads who again showed plenty of determination in the water and potential progression into the top squad.
Finally the younger D squad swimmers entered the pool, which is used as a platform from the national Aqualearn programme to club swimming, again these swimmers showed great promise in pool and were encouraged by everyone from the viewing balcony which was great to see. Once the wet side activities concluded, a small buffet and presentations ceremony was held in the leisure centres VIP lounge where all squads celebrated their successes from the afternoon. Sedgefield 75 Swimming Club would like to thank Wilkinson, Tesco, Husqvarna, Occasions, The Card Shop, Petals Florist and parents for donating raffle prizes and the NALC staff and club volunteers for their support in setting up the event.
Swimming is a great way of improving your cardiovascular and general all-round fitness and lots of Sedgefield 75’s younger members excel in other sports and regularly represent their school at athletics, track and field, biathlon, triathlon, football, rugby to name a few.
