Newton Aycliffe FC will play their last home game of 2014 at Moore Lane on Saturday 20 December. The club start the second half of their Ebac Northern League Division One season against Newcastle Benfield.
Aycliffe have signed 18 new players over the last couple of months, since Peter Dixon took over the reins. Club chairman Alan Oliver is delighted with the new signings saying “I’m confident that we’ll have a strong second half of the season.
Peter has brought in players of proven quality. Goals & results will come.” However, the team has been left frustrated at the lack of games over the last month. Aycliffe has only played once since the League Cup victory over Hebburn on Remembrance Day. Away games at Penrith & Bedlington scheduled for the last 2 Saturdays were called off due to bad weather.
Hopefully the winter weather will hold off for this Saturday. We hope to see as many fans as possible taking a break from Christmas shopping to come to cheer the team on.
Tickets for NAFC’s Christmas raffle will be on sale at the ground. For just £1 you can try for a range of prizes including £100 cash or a child’s bike kindly donated by long-term benefactors, Cycleways, among many other prizes.
