The Neighbourhood Plan “Consultation Launch” on 24th July 2014 held at Newton Aycliffe Youth & Community Centre received a great repsonse from townspeople..
The aim was to raise awareness of the Neighbourhood Plan and gather initial priorities from the residents and businesses of Great Aycliffe.
The event was opened by The Mayor Wendy Hillary who also presented a prize to the winner of the logo competition, Ellis Catterick aged 12 from Greenfield College.
This was followed by a Neighbourhood Plan presentation by Angela Corner. Guests were invited to take part in a number of activities which asked residents to give their views on a number of issues. These included protecting our green spaces, future housing needs, retail and social issues, general priorities for the town and also what the vision for Great Aycliffe should be over the next 20 years. These are currently being analysed and the results will be released later.
Angela Corner has been out and about over the last two weeks at Fun in the Park asking people to name three good things about the town and three things residents would like to see improve.
A Neighbourhood Plan presentation was given to The Rotary Club on Tuesday 29th July and members were asked for their general priorities for the town.
The Neighbourhood Plan team had a stand at PCP Wellness Festival where they were asking people their general priorities for the town.
Next week Angela Corner will be at Horndale Residents meeting. Why don’t you pop along? At this meeting you will be asked what your priorities for the Neighbourhood Plan are. If you have an issue with your area, or the town in general.Everyone in the town is entitled to their view so you should come and have your say!
