ROF59 Activity Centre opened their gates to Aycliffe Radio’s first ‘Drive In’ event, also believed to be the first in the North East, on Friday 3rd July. Over 50 cars attended, with the occupants enjoying a fantastic night of 90s and 00s dance anthems played by DJs Nathan Abbott and Kev Spencer, with singers Amy Stevens and Jess Wilko performing a few classic dance tracks.

All cars were socially distanced, with on site sanitiser station, toilet facilities and refreshments provided by ROF59. Aycliffe Radio are planning more ‘Drive In’ events at ROF59, including a Punk Rock Drive In on Saturday 18th July (5-10pm £20 a car) and a Drive In Ibiza House Party on Saturday 25th July (7-10pm £10 a car), see page 7 for more information.

Tickets for all events are available via www.skiddle.com – more information is available on the Aycliffe Radio website events page www.ayclifferadio.co.uk

Aycliffe Radio would like to record their thanks to all those who volunteered to help on the evening, including presenters and singers, who all gave their time free of charge, as the ‘Drive In’ events are all in aid of local charities.
