Visitors to Rose Lodge Care Home, Carers Way, had their knives and forks at the ready for their 4th ‘Come Dine With Me’ themed lunch event.
As part of the culinary competition chefs from the home went head to head to prepare a lavish 3 course meal for guests who then voted for their favourite menus. The event was open to the public and residents with available places selling out quickly.
The winner was Rose Lodge Chef Chris Watson who prepared a delicious menu of a tomato and mozzarella salad starter followed by chicken stroganoff main course before finishing off with banoffee cheesecake.
He was then presented with his prize of chocolates and a bottle of Prosecco. Chris said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have won. The Come Dine With Me events are always a lot of fun, I really enjoy taking part and can’t wait until the next one in September.”
The grand final of the ‘Come Dine With Me’ tournament at Rose Lodge will be held in September which will see Chris go against the chef who won the previous competition to determine the “ultimate “ winner.
