On Tuesday, 28th May, three students from the Macadam School of Dance auditioned for The Mandy Ellen performing Arts College for their September intake. They had to take classes in tap, ballet and jazz, perform a solo song and a monologue.
The college takes no more than 10 new students each year as it prides itself on giving the best it can in all aspects to the students.
The girls have all been offered a place out of 100’s who auditioned. Diane, Mary and all at the school would like to say how very proud we are of them and whilst we will be so sad to lose them wish them the very best of luck in the future.
The auditions were followed by workshops, where students enjoyed dance sessions in Tap, Musical Theatre and Jazz, taken by Mandy and her deputy principal Emma West. A great time was had by all and it is hoped to become a regular event.
Students are now rehearsing for their summer Show “Chance 2 Dance” on the 6th and 7th July at Mainsforth Community Theatre. Tickets are £5 for adults and £3.50 for under 14’s.
