Durham Uni visit Future Graduates ProgrammeStudents from Woodham Academy had the opportunity to visit Durham University as part of an ongoing educational programme of activities. This is the second time the students, who are part of the schools More Able Academy have visited Durham to take part in the Future Graduates Programme organised by the university.

The day focused on what to expect when going to university, including looking at how lessons differ from those in school. Students also worked on their academic writing skills, which were put to the test by a task requiring students to write a piece of work on ancient artefacts. The artefacts had been researched throughout the day and during a previous visit to the university. The Year 9 students will continue working on the project in class back at school.

Alivia Hoy, who attended the visit said: ‘It was great to be able to visit Durham University. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to go to university. I’m really looking forward to applying after I’ve been to college, and thinking about studying Law.’
