Stars from the world of entertainment will be appearing at the Youth & Community Centre on Burn Lane on Saturday 26th March when they star on one of the layouts at the Rotary Newton Aycliffe 12th Annual Model Railway Exhibition.
Whilst less than 12mm tall, visitors will be able to try to spot stars such as the Beatles and characters from The Railway Children, Vera, Herbie, Dr Who, Harry Potter, Janeway-Star Trek Voyager and the Italian Job all appearing on one of the 25 layouts appearing for this great exhibition.
Local modeller and Rotarian, Brian Winwood, has worked hard during lock down to create numerous scenes on his N gauge layout ‘Dorlington’ which has some eight trains running including an underground section.
Layouts of various scales, periods and sizes will generate huge interest for model railway enthusiasts as will the eleven trade stands and the full-size railway preservation societies.
Our lifelong friend ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ will be waiting to greet our younger visitors.
The event has all day catering, with the famous bacon butties, full disability access, car parking and a tombola.
Entry, from 10.00am on Saturday 26th March, is £6.00 for adults, £5.00 for concessions, 50p for accompanied children, wheelchair users are free.
