Residents and staff at HC-One’s St Clare’s Court, on Central Avenue paid their respects to the fallen war heroes by creating a special commemorative display both in and outside of the care home.

Remembrance Day is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth of Nations member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

After seeing wonderful remembrance displays throughout the area, residents and team members at St Clare’s Court were inspired to create their own commemorative art. With the help of volunteer Helen, residents worked on painting poppies for the display as they shared stories of the brave people who have served and are currently serving our country.

Everyone was delighted with the finished display, one Resident commented: “I am proud to have helped with this project, it’s lovely to see everything come together.”

Michelle Jones, St Clare’s Court Home Manager said: “What a beautiful display, thank you to everyone who helped create it and joined us in honouring those who have fought and paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.”
