Staff at Sugar Hill are so proud of Year 3 pupil Riley, as on 25th March, Riley’s grandad had a cardiac arrest at work. The amazing team at Gestamp acted fast and kept him alive until the paramedics arrived. He was then taken to James Cook Hospital.

Riley has always loved drawing so, to say thank you, he drew a helicopter and wrote, ‘Thank you for saving my Grandad’s life’.

Riley’s family then messaged the Great North Air Ambulance Service and they were absolutely over the moon! They put it all over their social media accounts and also requested the original copy to be put in their headquarters.

Riley was so proud of himself and rightly so. It’s lovely to hear that Riley’s Grandad is on the road to recovery.

Well done Riley, you are a fabulous Grandson and pupil at Sugar Hill.
