Just over a year ago, on World Book Day 2022, children and staff at Byerley Park Primary School launched a new reading challenge – ‘60 Books To Read Before You Leave Byerley Park’.
‘60 Books’ is a celebration of some of the very best in children’s fiction and literature. The list has been compiled from a range of book reviews and includes timeless children’s classics as well as more contemporary authors and stories.
Books include much loved stories like The Tiger That Came for Tea, The Twits, Charlotte’s Web, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and The Hobbit alongside more modern fiction like Lost & Found, Grandpa’s Great Escape and The Hunger Games.
We are delighted to award Frances in Year 6 the first certificate of completion and her prize of a £10 book token. Frances loves to read and would often wake up at 5am to read before school.
Frances used the special ‘60 Books’ section in our library to help her complete the challenge and her favourite book was ‘Noughts & Crosses’ by Malorie Blackman.
Congratulations Frances
