People in County Durham are being encouraged to show their gardens some TLC by turning their household waste into nutritious compost.
Durham County Council is supporting International Compost Awareness Week (May 5th – 11th), which is aimed at getting more people to understand the benefits of composting as a means of reducing waste and helping the environment.
As part of the campaign to promote composting the county council is working with getcomposting.com to offer discounted compost bins to residents.
The bins are priced from £19.98, with a £5.99 delivery charge, but people with larger gardens or those wishing to team up with a family member, friend or neighbour can take advantage of a ‘buy one, get one half price’ offer.
For further details people should visit www.getcomposting.com or call 0844 571 4444.
