Sedgefield 75 swimming club kicked off the new swimming season at the Richmonddales swimming club “Back to Pool” gala held at the Neptune Centre in Middlesbrough.

Nine swimmers tested themselves for the first time after the summer break and produced some stunning results, bringing back 24 personal best times and 18 medals collectively.

Mateusz Wilczynski got through an impressive 11 races, improving his best times in 7 of them and winning a silver and five bronze medals. Younger brother Filip managed significant improvements in all five of his events, taking home two silver and a bronze.

Charlie McEwan achieved three PBs in his five races including a big improvement at 100m backstroke and Katelyn Craig took a PB and county championships qualifying time in the 200m butterfly event.

Kathryn and Charlotte Lee competed in five and four events respectively and James Hodgson swam 400m freestyle and earned a PB.

Emma Price set new bests in all seven of her events and also won six gold and one silver medal. Matthew Wimbury took home silver in both of his breaststroke races.
