Luxury online homewares retailer, Roman at Home (www.romanathome.com), were delighted to donate an assortment of slate accessories to a local charity, St Teresa’s Hospice, following the enforcement of a second national lockdown which forced charity shops and non-essential businesses to close their doors again.

Darlington based charity, St Teresa’s Hospice, provide amazing end of life care and support to residents of South Durham & North Yorkshire, and their carers.

Roman at Home donated slate products to the value of over £1,000 for sale in the hospice’s charity shops to help raise much needed funds in a time of uncertainty and difficulty. This included Afternoon Tea Sets; Plaques and Chalkboards; a Variety of Placemats and Coasters; and Garden Markers.

Jane Bradshaw, Chief Executive at St Teresa’s Hospice, commented: “It was wonderful to learn of the team at Roman’s very generous gesture. Everyone at St Teresa’s Hospice is incredibly grateful that they have chosen to donate over £1,000 worth of products at such a difficult time. We have enjoyed a close relationship with Roman for over 20 years and they have been committed supporters of the Hospice, raising tens of thousands of pounds over that time, and donating fabulous products for us to raffle at events such as our annual Ball. Like many charities, St Teresa’s survival as a provider of vital services has been severely threatened this year due to the global pandemic, and support such as this is vital to help us raise funds to keep services open for patients needing urgent help and support”.

“We have always tried to support this really special charity and this is such a difficult time for us all” says Roman’s CEO, David Osborne.
