Peter Gallagher former Manager of the Nat West Bank died on Tuesday 2nd July 2013 aged 78. A paratrooper, he served as a Major in the T.A. He moved  to Newton Aycliffe to open the new Natwest branch in 1971.  He  became Chairman of the Youth Centre and was a member of the Round Table and Rotary Club.

When retired he went to live in Brazil  to be near his son Vince and his wife Gloria  and grandchildren Victoria and Amanda. He later returned to the the UK  and lived in London  at a Royal British Legion Retirement home near to his daughter Clare, husband Paraic and grandson Flynn.

His youngest son, Paul, lives in Bath in Somerset.
