I am pleased to say that all the little hogs I have here are doing very well and will need to be overwintered, the smallest is little Ronnie who weighs a mere 130g. In fact, I am so busy and tired because I have more here than I am used to, I am caring for over 20 whereas my capacity for the space I have is 14. As I said last week, I have eight babies and maybe eight juveniles, three are in the incubator that was kindly donated last year. It has been in constant use since early June.
Of course, all of these lovely hedgehogs need food, medicines and a lot of my time, so I am knackered, I am still a wife, a mother with two boys at home, plus additional jobs that I have to do, so fundraising is difficult to say the least, however, I will be out and about in November. On the 18th I will be at the Neville Parade Methodist Church Fair then on Friday 24th of November, Shirley our Community Champion at Tesco has allowed me in store, thank you Shirley and, hopefully, on 2nd December, we will be at the PCP Christmas Fair, please come and see me and support our beautiful prickly pals or, if you want to help me before these events, please drop me an email. They need to stay here warm, well cared for and out of harms way.
Thanks to June, Val, Bev and finders of these small little ones. They now have a chance to be happy and healthy whilst here and they will be the first releases of 2024, let’s work together to get them off the red list for extinction because they are beautiful and your gardens best friend.
Have a great week.
