The Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) is delighted to have won an award for embracing equality in the workplace and championing diversity, at the recent North East Equality Awards 2016. PCP were recognised in the category of ‘Organisations between 51 and 250 employees’ for embedding inclusivity through equality and diversity in day to day working practices leading the way to a fairer future for all. The presentation took place on 20th October 2016 at Ramside Hall Hotel. The event, now in its 13th year, is organised by Equality North East and celebrates outstanding equality and diversity practices across the public, private and not for profit sectors. Carol Gaskarth, PCP Chief Executive says “At PCP we are committed to recognising and celebrating individuality. We know that good equality and diversity practice within the workplace is an essential part of creating fulfilled and successful staff and clients, because people need to be valued for who they are as well as what they do. In 2010 we won the ‘Employers up to 50 staff award’ which shows how much we’ve progressed over the past 6 years! This is a brilliant achievement acknowledging the hard work of staff and volunteers and the outstanding work embedding equality in our practices.” PCP is a leading third sector organisation working in the North East, with a focus on health improvement and reducing health inequalities through building capacity and life chances with disadvantaged communities. The organisation’s purpose is to improve health, wellbeing and quality of life for people disadvantaged by disability, age, ill health and/or caring responsibilities and reduce inequalities in health.
