Spectrum Roller Skating Club proudly hosted their very first festival last weekend at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre. The event attracted clubs from Bolton, Manchester, Durham and Wales to the two day event. In total over 85 skaters took part participating in solo, duo, quartet, group, mixed inter club teams and parent & child events.
The club have been preparing for the event for months with regular fundraising and training. Spectrum Club had 25 participants and came away with 42 awards as well as Gold for their Team performance of Aladdin.
“There is a whole team of people behind the event and a big thank you to all involved. Special mention to Councillor Shirley Quinn who came along to watch the event and helped with choosing awards. We had a super weekend and all the skaters were fantastic!”
