Butterwick Hospice in Bishop Auckland is staging the first of their afternoon tea events for 2015 in Hardwick Hall in Sedgefield on Tuesday 10th March 2015.
The tea will be served in the resplendent “Coleman Suite“ beneath the extravagant Austrian Strauss crystal chandeliers. Doors open at 1.30pm and ladies are invited to browse the craft and retail stalls prior to taking their seats.
The Butterwick Fundraiser has been generously supported by the BBC TV antiques expert, published writer and established artist “David Harper“ as one of our guest speakers. David who now lives and works in Barnard Castle, travels extensively to film appearances on, Bargain Hunt, Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, Cash in the Attic and Antiques Road Trip, to name but a few.
As our key speaker David will give us an insight into his life and loves along with his expertise and advice on the care and on the day valuations on a number of selected items. He goes on to explain how he inherited his love of antiques from his parents, who were keen collectors, and how his mother as a young girl worked on the rostrum of an auction house taking notes as well as logging all the bidders and buyers.
Our second speaker represents Harvey’s International sausages who also originates from Teesdale.   Harvey ‘s  offer the most fantastic range of sausages made to their very own family recipes, using only the best free range meats and the finest fresh ingredients, seasonings and flavours to create all of our wonderful varieties that also include a gluten free range.
Later the hotel staff will present the afternoon tea to include a selection of finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam as well as a selection of cakes and fancies that include tempting mini torte, cheesecake, and chocolate brownies, accompanied by a choice of finest blended tea or coffee of your choice.
Tickets are just £18 per head and must be booked in advance. All proceeds will go to the Butterwick Hospice in Bishop Auckland.
