Due to huge popularity the Helping Hands team hosted their 2nd Fashion Show in just 6 weeks.Alwyn White project leader said ‘I was astounded by the dedication of the team, especially our fashion show director, Caroline Sturgeon. Our guests were welcomed and given drinks on arrival and the models gracefully took the floor to display beautiful clothing, shoes and accessories’.
All models were from Life Church in Newton Aycliffe that meets every Thursday at Greenfield School main hall at 7pm. They aged from teens to a pensioner – none want to be supermodels just role models. Many thought they would never be able to do anything like this and it boosted their confidence.
After the show Kerry Wootton told the story of how her life has been changed round for the good. Deborah Taylor-Smith sang ‘Hero’ by Mariah Carey. All the items were given away to those who need them most! Entry was by invitation and each person received five vouchers to redeem on the evening for items of their choice as well as a free gift.
It was a lot of hard work but wonderful to see the clothes looking so great on the models. They looked relaxed and happy as they walked down the catwalk. We received such great feedback and thoroughly enjoyed putting on the fashion show and look forward to the next one scheduled for Sunday 24th November at Bethany Centre with the theme of ‘Winter Wonderland’
We are looking for musicians to play the violin or harp as our guests arrive and other musicians to play throughout the show. Please contact Caroline Sturgeon 07779 708844 to offer your support or to see if you qualify for a free invitation for what promises to be another amazing event!
