Heighington Boys U7s
Russell Foster Green Division 2
First league game of the season for the lads. After an end to end game in the first half, with it being 3-3, a quick pep talk saw the lads focus on doing things in the right way. Won 8-3 after a dominant second half.
Goals: Isaac x 5, Reuben x 2, Oliver x 1
Solid performance to start the season boys. Keep moving forwards in the right direction.
Heighington AFC U12s RFYL
Heighington AFC v Hetton Juniors Napoli.
The Mighty Red and Blacks made their Division 3 debut today playing against a strong Hetton side and coming out 3-1 winners.
The game was played at a fast pace from the start with some amazing passing on display. Ted scored the 1st goal of the game, which was followed up very quickly by an awesome chip over the keeper by Oscar, what a goal! After starting the second half 2-0 to the Red & Blacks, Hetton came out in the hope of getting back into the game by claiming a goal, only to be dismayed again by an almighty penalty struck by Chappers taking the boys to 3-1!
After this Hetton lost their heads and things got scrappy, leading to an altercation with Harry and then poor Yaley being taken out, resulting in the opposition player being awarded a red card.
The lads were pure work horses today and fully deserved their victory. Massive well done to everyone.
Goals: Ted x 1, Oscar x 1, Chappers x 1
Managers MoM: Ted, worked his socks off for the whole match.
Parents MoM: Cole, for a commanding performance in his CDM role.
Heighington AFC U12s Whites
Heighington AFC Whites 3 v Hartlepool St Francis Royals 2
The Whites got their season off to great start with a win but had to work extremely hard as Hartlepool pushed from the off and fully deserved their lead until Evie Pearson, making her debut, scored an amazing free kick from 30 yards, lobbing the keeper to bring us level at half time. Second half we were once again caught out and Hartlepool took the lead again but the team never let their heads drop and soon got level again after a Charlie Wilikinson corner was smashed home by Chris Abrams. Once again Charlie Wilkinson was a constant threat and he fed Nathan McKenna to smash us into the lead for the 1st time. The whole team dug deep to get the result over the line with Theo Denton making 3 double saves towards the end.
MOTM went to Theo Denton and Evie Pearson who just edged with a fine display each. A massive thank you to everyone who was there to support the team and the Hammer and Pincers for our amazing new strips.
Heighington AFC U12s Blacks
TJFA Division 3 – Billingham Synthonia 1 v Heighington Blacks 1
Heading into the first game of the season away from home and against an opposition that had recently merged 2 top teams together was always going to be a tough start.
However, Heighington Blacks gave it their all and listened to how we wanted them to play. First half, Blacks had to withstand a bit of pressure from Billingham and dealt with this very well. Second half saw changes made and an alteration to our formation. That served us well as Blacks dominated the 2nd half took the lead with a cracking goal by Alex Scaife. Unfortunately with 5 minutes to go, and a dubious Ref decision, saw the ball kicked out of the Harry’s hands and into the net. The game then was seen out by both teams to end with a point a piece.
