Well done to Greenfield Community College for being named County Durham’s lead school for health & wellbeing!
The school is delighted to receive this award after achieving Sedgefield & County Durham’s Contribution to Sport and Physical Activity award last year.   In addition, Greenfield is the only Secondary school in Sedgefield to gain the School Games Gold Kite mark for the second year running.
Following this wonderful announcement, Greenfield’s extensive programme of sport and activity for students and the community has been given a real boost. Year 7 students have already been enjoying numerous activities and will hopefully continue to take advantage of the fantastic academy and club opportunities which support all of our students in achieving their full sport potential.
Congratulations also go this week to Greenfield’s gifted & talented netball players. Anna Cialis-Hodgson (Year 7), Ebony O’Donnell, Molly Clark, Adara Nattrass (Year 8) and Millie Foster (Year 9) have all been selected for County Durham training.   Thanks go to their Greenfield PE teacher, Ellie Barnes, who has coached them with enthusiasm and skill.
In addition to the full range of traditional sports Greenfield offers plenty of contemporary activities including: basketball with the Durham Wild Cats; table tennis with County Coach Matthew Porter; cheerleading with Nemisis All Stars and dance with our fantastic Performing Arts team.
Greenfield also offers a wide range of sporting and fitness opportunities to the local community, for more information contact the new manager of Greenfield Sport Lee Boynton on 07879 117224.
