Aycliffe resident, Daniel Hill is embarking on his exciting journey into Self Employment thanks, in part, to the GAMP AAP’s flagship ‘Step into Business’ scheme.
Joiner, Daniel Hill has received a grant from GAMP Step into Business Scheme (Great Aycliffe and Middridge Partnership). He successfully started his own business after working with staff at South Durham Enterprise Agency.
Daniel is now operating in and around Newton Aycliffe area offering a competitively priced joinery service.
Daniel commented “With the GAMP grant I was able to purchase a small van which has allowed me to be more mobile, bringing new business for me, and my diary is filling up. Daniel’s new business is going well thanks to his own determination and the ‘Step into Business’ scheme which aims to assist 40 Newton Aycliffe and Middridge residents into self employment over the course of the next 12 months, making Newton Aycliffe a great place to start thinking about self employment.
Adam White, GAMP AAP Community Project Officer commented: ‘One of GAMPs’ key priorities are Employment, Enterprise. Education and Training’. This initiative brings together the Area Action Partnership and colleagues within South Durham Enterprise Agency with an aim of increasing self employment opportunities. We hope that a business such as Daniel’s grows as it will prove Aycliffe is a vibrant place to start a business.’
