Aycliffe resident, Justin Boultwood is embarking on a journey into Self Employment thanks, in part, to the GAMP AAP’s flagship ‘Step into Business’ scheme.
Justin considered Self Employment after recognizing the fact he can combine his skills in property maintenance and electrical services to deliver a high quality competitively priced service.
Justin was able to outline his skills and experience to devise a solid business plan with the help of staff at South Durham Enterprise Agency. While Justin was working through his business plan with his Coach, Jonathan Armitage he was able to access vital grant funding, used to buy equipment which in turn allowed Justin to offer a new service that was previously unavailable. Justin said; “GAMP helped me purchase equipment which in turn allowed me to offer more services to my customers.
I bought a fault finding piece of equipment, which helped me offer a service to the North East as well as Newton Aycliffe. The diagnostic equipment allows me to do my work quicker and more effectively which is good for business”
Adam White, GAMP AAP Community Project Officer commented: ‘One of GAMPs’ key priorities is Employment, Enterprise. Education and Training. We hope that Justin’s business grows from strength to strength proving Aycliffe is a good place to start a business.’
