I also wish to congratulate the County Council and Town Council workers who are responsible for the wonderful display of flower beds in the town. I watched the gardeners one day at St Mary’s roundabout on their knees weeding the floral displays then I went for my walk through the town along to St Clare’s and down Stephenson Way, but what a different look!
No nice Flower displays until I got to Stephenson Way with two displays of yellow roses at each side of the road. The roses look lovely and bright along the roadside, but they are spoilt through lack of attention.
The two lovely floral displays opposite Stephenson Way school were also spoilt by weeds. I continued to the end of Stephenson Way, one of the main roads through the town. Why is it so neglected? We all pay rates and deserve the same amenities in the West Ward!
Whether it is County or Town Council responsibility – let’s have a good floral displays throughout Newton Aycliffe.
