Dan Summers Your Labour Candidate for the West Ward

I have lived in the West Ward all my life, after attending Woodham Burn School I then attended Woodham Comprehensive and I’m now finishing my final year at Darlington College studying TV and Film production. I joined the Labour Party just over a year ago and when asked why I wanted to join the Labour Party my reply was “To make a real change to people’s lives” and I stand by that to this day. Becoming a Town Councillor is my first real opportunity to make a positive change within my local community.

If I am elected as Town Councillor for the West Ward I have three major aims: my first aim is to work effectively with the police to tackle the wave of mini motorbikes that is vastly spreading throughout the West Ward and other areas throughout Aycliffe, I know through the local P.A.C.T meetings residents are equally concerned about this matter and I believe that by working together we can tackle this major problem.  My second aim is to work with other Town Councillors and County Councillors to provide clean parks and new activities for young people through community houses and other public services. My third aim is to act as a much needed voice of the youth on the Town Council as well as the voice of the people within the West Ward.

If elected I will undertake any available training and where necessary seek the advice of other Great Aycliffe Town Councillors so that I can be an effective voice working hard on behalf of all the people of the West Ward.
