Dear Landlords,

Please do not take in any tenant who will pay your rental without doing previous landlord and agency checks on the suitability of the prospective tenant – for the community’s sake.

I am writing in response to a very disturbing incident that has developed over the past year.

In the West Ward a family unit with multiple young children, who has been constantly visited and warned by the police has just been evicted.

The landlord was apparently warned on multiple occasions about his tenant’s anti community behaviour but did nothing for months.

Finally the tenant has successfully been evicted and the house has now been boarded up. This means apparently no rental income for the landlord for 3 months. Consequences to bad management by the landlord.

More disturbing apparently another private landlord has immediately accepted this same family in as tenants in a nearby street.

It seems money is more important to some landlords than being a responsible community minded participant for the benefit of all the neighbours they infect due to their greed and lack of responsibility.

Landlords please do your homework. You can raise up or destroy whole communities by your single one at a time choices.
