Sedgefield Water Polo Club would like to congratulate John Pratt who represented England Senior Men over the weekend of 20th and 21st May at the Home Nations in Dublin, Ireland – scoring a fantastic 10 goals over the 3 games.
England’s men began the defence of their Home Nations title with a powerful 23-5 victory over Wales on Saturday morning, with John scoring a hat trick.
The senior men’s team then moved a step closer to retaining their Home Nations title after winning a fierce battle with Ireland 13-10 on Saturday evening. A strong start from Nick Hume’s squad put them firmly in control of the game and, despite the hosts fighting back in the third quarter, England were able to close the game out and secure the victory, with John scoring a fantastic 4 goals.
Sunday saw the men play their final game of the tournament where they beat Scotland 11-6; John scored yet another hat trick.
Three wins from three games saw the senior men retain their title. Congratulations to all players and coaches.
This is a fantastic achievement for John and shows the younger players from Sedgefield how far they may be able to progress in the sport if they put the hard work and effort into their training.
In addition to Junior and Senior sessions, Sedgefield Water Polo Club now offers a beginner session on a Saturday afternoon for those wishing to try this fun and exciting sport.
